Collaborativo PR is a Puerto Rico-based nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to postsecondary education for students from communities facing high levels of poverty and inequity, particularly in Loíza. It works directly with students in grades 10 through 12 by providing college advising, guidance, and sustained support throughout the process of selecting, applying to, enrolling in, and completing postsecondary education, to increase college enrollment and completion and improve long-term socioeconomic outcomes.
On this project, our support for CollaborativoPR focused on strengthening institutional capacity and improving postsecondary access and success for youth in Puerto Rico by designing a Community of Practice (CoP) for postsecondary institutions. Drawing on Concéntrico’s experience in education strategy, organizational development, and equity-centered consulting in Puerto Rico and beyond, the project included structured interviews with postsecondary leaders, analysis of existing student support systems, synthesis of findings into actionable insights, and the development of a tailored CoP curriculum informed by local and national perspectives.
